Ashtabula - Lake Erie

On our way - a beautiful day to visit the lake!

We had to cross this bridge in order to visit the Maritime Museum.  Every hour and half hour it was raised so that boats could pass.

Outside the museum with Dad

Up on the hill looking over the area next to the lake

I believe these monuments are memorials to sailors in WWII

We don't visit the lake enough!

Another week . . . .

. . . .  has come and gone.

You know those blackberries on last week's post, well now they are in those jars.  We made ALOT of jam last Saturday!

I had only been to Chick-fil-a once before in my lifetime.   So when Lily suggested us visiting the fast food restaurant I thought it a great idea.  I'm gonna stop by the next chance I get and order their peach milkshake!

of backhoes, blackberries, and of just summertime!

Even though Dad has gone back to work after his relaxing, ha, vacation . . . he has kept up his work on those "finishing touch jobs"

Summertime is beautiful, just look at that blue sky and all the green trees!

Somehow Uncle Dan and Jonathan always end up helping!  ;)

Is it even possible to have a HUGE blackberry patch and not even know about it?  I guess soo.  After Grandpa showed us and we saw the bounty of them we were just tickled to death!  :)

smiles :) :) :)

Summertime

Mum's garden is giving us an abundant supply of vegtables. . . . and we love pickles so. . . let's can pickles!

For boys, I guess the exciting part is the way you pack your pickles.  We keep telling him he's gonna be an engineer!

Dad has been on vacation for the past two weeks so he has been getting those jobs done that are like 10 years overdue.  I asked Dad how much this stone (or whatever you want to call it) weighed and he said it is around 1000 lbs!  Ya, and it was in the back of our one ton van.

6 ft long.  This stone was put in front of our fireplace downstairs.

I'm not sure if anybody can guess where I took this pic.

Dad also replaced our wooden front door step with a sturdy stone step. Pretty sturdy!
