-Christmas 2011-

Starting to really like this game :)

Since "clown" has long since gone on to a better life, Uriah decided that Jeremiah needed some lovable stuffed animal to take poor clown's place.  This fella should suffice.

Our two strings of Christmas cards.

Christmas day was not white. :(

Can't think of anything to give your son?  Give him socks...

 A big fat book of all the tractors in the world.

We get blamed for everything.

Jared, just woke up.

Christmas Caroling

After we caroled the children worked on a craft and...

...everyone munched on cookies.

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!!

Jared has been recruiting his brothers for work on his Jeep.  Can't wait to see and ride in the finished product. :)

Treasured ornaments on our Christmas tree.  Why do we all have to grow up?

Definitely

Levi is becoming quite the craftsman.  Notice:  Money has multiple uses; see photo.

Whenever we come in need of something, Mum immediately tells us "write it on the whiteboard or we will forget!"

Yummy!  Chocolate and peanut butter goodness!

 Delightful Dirty Snowballs

   Mix together crushed sandwich creme cookies and cream cheese.  Form into balls and roll in powdered sugar.  Make sure you don't eat to many, though it is quite tempting!

Did you know?
 The song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Riendeer"  was started all because a little girl was worried because her mother was sick and was going to die.
The song "Silent Night" came about all because an organ was broken.
"Winter Wonderland" was written by a tuberculosis patient.
Jingle Bells was not even written for Christmas!

Hope you are enjoying the season!

Music Competition

Last night, Susanna held a music competition for her students.  It was held at a cute little church down the road.

Kathryn and Lydia before the competition

The little church was decorated for Christmas :)

'Melia getting some last minute practice in.

These young men were very kind and allowed me to take a picture of them!

Finally!  Kind of, I still see some interesting faces!

"Wow,  look at my score points!"

The two Lydia's
The competition allowed the students to practice and perform.   By looking at the score points that they received at the end they were able to see where they needed work.
 Well done!  Everyone!

Scenes from Fall

One afternoon I set out on a walk and snapped pictures of fall prettiness and pretty much anything that suited my fancy.

I am not a photographer and I don't know what makes a  picture correct or not.  But, I like the sunshine shining down on the Mum plant and our Home Sweet Home in the background!

If you are a Pennsylvanian, there are two things you love and do not take for granted.  A clear blue sky and sunshine!!!!   We don't see those two too often.

Mint Leaves:
 We like to boil the leaves and add the concentrate that comes from them to sugar and water and make mint tea.  It really is refreshing!  Try it!

Love the color in this photo!

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

Singing " I Will Meet You"

  1. I will meet you in the morning,
    Just inside the Eastern Gate;
    Then be ready, faithful pilgrim,
    Lest with you it be too late.

Refrain:
I will meet you, I will meet you
Just inside the Eastern Gate over there;
I will meet you, I will meet you,
I will meet you in the morning over there.

If you hasten off to glory,
Linger near the Eastern Gate,
For I’m coming in the morning;
So you’ll not have long to wait.

Keep your lamps all trimmed and burning;
For the Bridegroom watch and wait;
He’ll be with us at the meeting
Just inside the Eastern Gate.

Oh, the joys of that glad meeting
With the saints who for us wait!
What a blessed, happy meeting
Just inside the Eastern Gate!
